Membership FAQs
What's the deal. Why Memberships? What are they?
Membership is the best way to support the store. We strive to provide our community and players with the best possible pricing, experience, and benefits. Sign up online with either annual or monthly payments for the annual membership term, then check in at the store counter to sign your member agreement and (for certain tiers) get your welcome packet.
Can non-members still play at Hashtag?
Of course, and for free!
What about the Expansion Plan? That's exciting but also scary.
We have three expansion plans to renovate as the membership grows so that we can offer a premium experience to members, but we'll always have free seating and play space for non-members. Members will get privileges like Table/Seat reservations, and there will be Members-Only areas constructed as we hit benchmarks that will include new chairs, bigger TCG tables, more spacious player accommodations, War Gaming Tables, and a free esports lounge.
Can I play in paid events as a non-member?
Always. There will be some members-only events. For paid events, whether TCG, convention, beer tasting, or otherwise, your event entry fee will get you access to member areas for the duration.
What are you taking away?
Nothing. Membership adds benefits. Each tier was carefully constructed to be additive. As it grows, members will get first access to products and services which could result in a very limited non-member product allocation. That's inevitable.
Are memberships transferrable? What about families or partners/spouses?
No. All purchases are final and can not be transferred or assigned. Family/Partner memberships are something we're researching and hope to have available sometime in 2026 for Tier 3 members but is not a current feature of the program.
Can I gift a month of membership?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of recurring payments within the annual membership, a month is not gift-able, however gift cards are always available. We are working on the feasibility of annual gifting.
How do I update my account?
Speak with staff, they can help you anytime in-store.
What happens if I purchase the wrong level?
Since Membership purchases cannot be refunded and cancellation is a process, you would need to reach out to info@hashtagarena.com with your name and member info, they will assist in facilitating the change.
What if I want to upgrade/downgrade?
Reach out to Management immediately to facilitate an upgrade. Downgrades are slightly more complicated, but would require cancellation, so purchase with care. Reach out to management either way. We'll do our best.
What if I lose my arcade or membership card?
If a member card is lost or misplaced we can create a new one for you in-store upon request for $15. Arcade cards can be replaced within two business days, also for $15 dollars.
Can I put a funny card name? Like Turd Ferguson?
The name on the card will be the same name as the name on your account. If a preferred name is desired, please consult with management, we want to be respectful and accommodate chosen names, but are unable to call you Batman Buttermuffin or your Twitch handle.
Can I buy one month?
Memberships are an annual commitment. See cancellation & pausing for more details.

We get it. Situations change, people move, people stop playing their favorite games for a stretch. We aren't monsters, you can cancel anytime without a termination fee. However, to prevent abuse, you will be unable to purchase a membership again for 6 months. If you attempt to get around this with a different member account or credit card (or anything else sneaky), you "may" be banned from the store for abuse and fraud. One-month pausing can be done on a case-by-case basis, inquire with management.
I don't like change.
That's okay. We're here for you, but our community is growing, and it wants to help us improve an already amazing experience. Memberships are (part of) the way.

Benefit FAQs
Increased Trade-in Value
For your trade-ins, specifically to products that we purchase like MTG and Riftbound singles, we offer an additional 5% value for both credit and cash transactions.
Member Pricing
This does not apply universally, but we'll have members-only pricing on many products.
House Games
Hashtag has over 100 Board and Card games available to play for free to anyone who comes in. For members, a library of many more games will be available for free play. Once a member's lounge is constructed, a Member's House Games wall will be built. Hashtag is also experimenting with "House Decks" for members to try various games, however we are months away from delivering that program.
Flashback Drafts
Ever wondered what it was like to sit down at a LGS and draft Magic for FNM in 1995? Well, now you can! Hashtag has a team dedicated to making custom packs to recreate the experiences you may have missed (or enjoyed) from times past. Each month will feature a different specialized block (Urza, Ravnica, etc) with Flashback packs available for member events at specialized pricing.
Saturday Movie Socials
Also called "Matinee Madness" or "MOVIE MANIA". Hashtag has partnered with AMC Theaters to book a private theater at the AMC Worldgate (10 minutes from Hashtag) for a monthly members movie screening! Each screening will be Saturday morning on the opening weekend of a new studio movie! Pricing varies on Tier. Seating is limited and RSVP/purchase is required. Don't just show up, that will be embarrassing for both of us.
Early Access
Tier 2/3 Members get Early Access. You'll get links to order, reserve space in events, and priority pricing. Tier 3 members will get guaranteed MSRP pricing on nearly everything (sometimes we can't guarantee MSRP because for some collectibles, we buy higher than wholesale). Tier 3 will also be able to order things up to a week ahead of everyone else while supplies last.
VIP Happy Hour
Happy Hour is never when you can get to the arena. Bummer, right? That's okay! Tier 2/3 have extended Happy Hour so you can enjoy HH from 2-9pm every day!
Monthly Snack Card
Each month Tier 2 members can visit the front register and get a punch card full of 8 punches. You can redeem it for a snack or a soda per punch, max 2 per visit. Tier 3 members get 2 cards per month. All snacks and sodas under $3 retail price are eligible.
Free Arcade Play
Tier 3 members get free play in the arcade. Abuse of this perk will be monitored and membership will be revoked without refund if caught.
"Date Night / Daycare Rule:" Non-member Spouses, Partners, and Children under 9 can be included in Tier 3 Member Free Play if accompanied by the Adult Tier 3 Member.
Unaccompanied minors in arcade with Tier 3 Member card for free play will be loudly announced over microphone and given candy and caffeine before being returned to their member guardian. *sarcasm* *maybe* Please don't abuse this benefit.
T3 Member Discord Channel
If you're part of our thriving Discord, this will be the first point of contact for T3 Member Initiatives, comms and announcements.
Weekly Events
For the curious and committed gamer. Tier 3 members are allowed free entry into the following constructed events. Play in as many as you want, you just need to bring your own deck. This is for constructed events only, and only for events $10 and under. If an event has prizes, you are still eligible, even if you didn't pay the entry fee.
Lorcana Weeklies, Gundam Weeklies, Modern Mondays (MTG), Legacy Tuesdays (MTG), Riftbound Nexus Nights, Standard & Standard Showdown (MTG) and Star Wars Unlimited Weeklies.

A password-protected shopping site has been created and is available for a curated VIP shopping experience for VIP and Tier 3 Members. From Power 9 to Original Magic Art and VIP experiences, it has it all! See the event pics above for examples.
VIP Status / Events
Since August 2025, Hashtag has been curating VIP experiences for it's most supportive customers. Status is earned and allocated from December of the previous year. Once earned, it is good for the entire calendar year, resetting Jan 1 for all.
